Oast & Rye was founded by Philippa Mackinnon, whose vision began with her own three holiday cottages. She wanted to provide guests with luxury toiletries that felt indulgent yet approachable, but struggled to source products that truly met her standards. Out of this challenge, she decided to create them herself. What began as a personal project for her holiday lets soon grew into something much bigger. Other holiday home owners started asking about the products, and guests themselves wanted to take them home.

Philippa’s dedication to strong, sophisticated scents and sustainable quality has created a brand that elevates both everyday living and special occasions. Today, Oast & Rye continues to grow organically, staying true to its roots as a family business built on passion, craftsmanship, and a love of creating products that people return to time and time again.

Now based between London and East Sussex, Oast & Rye has grown thoughtfully while staying true to its roots as a small, family-run business. At the heart of its continued success is a strong sense of heritage and collaboration, with the next generation playing a key role in shaping its future. Philippa’s son, Alex, now leads operations from the London office, bringing fresh perspective and strategic direction while maintaining the values the business was built on. Working closely alongside him are two other family members: Katie, whose vision as Creative Director ensures the brand continues to evolve with originality and purpose, and Fiona - Head of New Business, who drives growth through meaningful partnerships and new opportunities. Together, they balance tradition with innovation, ensuring Oast & Rye remains both personal in approach and progressive in outlook.
